Habitat for Humanity

Under the Men's Ministry program at Hixson, the church seeks to reach out to the community by participating in the local Habitat for Humanity program.

Incorporated in 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga (HabiChatt) is an
independent, non-profit, ecumenical, Christian, affordable housing ministry.

HabiChatt has built more than 160 simple and affordable homes in partnership with
families in need in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Volunteers and the future homeowners
provide the labor in building the homes. Tax deductible donations of money, land and
materials are provided by individuals, organizations and corporations.

HabiChatt is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International which is currently
working in 100 countries. Since 1976 Habitat for Humanity International and its
affiliates have built more than 175,000 houses worldwide. More than 900,000 people
live in Habitat Homes.
