Marriage Savers
On February 14, 2002, Hixson
Church of Christ announced its support of the Marriage Savers Community Marriage
Covenant.

"Marriage Savers" is an initiative of First Things First.
The goal of the
initiative is to prepare, strengthen and restore marriages in the Chattanooga
area. Marriage Savers require local churches to sign a Community Marriage
Covenant.
Community Marriage Covenant
We will commit to the following marital issues:
I. To prepare couples for marriage with the following conditions:

Premarital Counseling
-
Attend a Pre-martial class
-
A premarital inventory or assessment tool to be administered and reviewed
together

Assignment to a mature married couple for the purpose of
-
Mentoring
II. To create marriage initiatives encompassing different seasons in marriage

Newlyweds
-
Young couples
-
Remarriage
-
2nd half of marriage
III. To provide Mentoring
On-going mentorship by a mature, married couple
IV. To provide information and assistance for unique situations

Blended Families
-
Single Parenting
-
Distress Couples
-
Divorce and Remarriage
V. To provide prevention orientation
On-going marriage and family programs/educational opportunities to equip to help
marriages to say strong and fulfilled.
